A humidifier for the whole living room

With the radiators on full, humidity drops fast in large rooms. HU5710 handles up to 56 m² according to Philips and holds the level you choose with its humidity sensor – the ambient light shows with a colour whether the air is dry or just right.

Two ways to refill

Lift off the top and fill the tank, or pour water into the opening on the side while it's running. The 4.5-litre tank lasts up to 37 hours, and the unit switches off when the water runs out.

Tap water and easy care

Philips says it works with ordinary tap water. After use, QuickDry mode can dry the filter with the fan and switch off once it's dry, so it doesn't stay damp until next time.

Product FAQ

What's the difference between HU5710/00 and HU5710/03?

The colour: /00 is white and silver, /03 graphite grey and silver. The features are the same.

Are scented oils included?

Three aroma pads are included, but no oils. Never pour oil into the water tank – use the aroma pad as the manual describes.

What humidity should I aim for?

Indoors, 40–60 % relative humidity usually feels comfortable. With the radiators on in winter, indoor air can drop to 20–30 %. Set the level you want and let the humidity sensor do the work – above 60 % is rarely needed and can cause condensation on cold windows.

Does it get hot? Is it safe in a child's room?

No, it doesn't heat the water – moisture evaporates naturally from a wet filter, so there is no hot steam to get burned by. Still, place it steadily where children can't tip it over or pull the cord, and don't let children play with the appliance or the water.

How often do I change the filter?

Philips states up to 6 months, depending on how much you use it and how hard your water is. The replacement filter is called FY5030. A filter that turns yellowish is normal – those are minerals from the water.

How do I clean it?

Empty the water and let the parts dry when you're not using it. Clean the tank and filter about once a week as the manual describes – with water and a soft brush, and descale when needed. Never leave old water standing for days.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

Philips' largest humidifier in the range, for the living room or an open-plan kitchen and living area. HU5710 humidifies rooms up to 56 m² at 400 ml/h according to Philips, and the 4.5-litre tank lasts up to 37 hours.

NanoCloud technology lets the water evaporate from a filter, so no mist is visible and according to Philips there are no wet patches or white dust. The water isn't heated. A QuickDry mode uses the fan to dry the filter after use, so it doesn't stay damp.

Set the humidity between 30 and 70 % in 5 % steps and the sensor holds it. You fill it from the top, or from the side while it's running. The ambient light and colour ring show the humidity, night mode is quiet (from 12 dB(A) according to Philips) and in the Air+ app you control the timer and schedules.

Available in white/silver and graphite grey/silver. Three aroma pads are included.
