Change the humidity without getting up

In the Philips Air+ app you see the room's humidity and choose the level, timer and schedules. Let it run in auto mode during the day and sleep mode at night – the humidity sensor speeds up and slows down by itself.

Fill it with tap water

Lift off the top and fill the 3.5-litre tank straight under the tap. Philips says ordinary tap water works, and with a full tank it runs up to 21 hours.

The filter that does the work

The fan blows room air through a wet filter and the moisture evaporates. The filter is changed about every six months according to Philips – it lifts out easily and goes back in.

Product FAQ

What's the difference between HU4210/03 and HU4210/04?

The colour: /03 is charcoal grey and /04 is white. Both are controlled with the Philips Air+ app and have the same features.

Are scented oils included?

Three aroma pads are included, but no oils. Never pour oil into the water tank – use the aroma pad as the manual describes.

What humidity should I aim for?

Indoors, 40–60 % relative humidity usually feels comfortable. With the radiators on in winter, indoor air can drop to 20–30 %. Set the level you want and let the humidity sensor do the work – above 60 % is rarely needed and can cause condensation on cold windows.

Does it get hot? Is it safe in a child's room?

No, it doesn't heat the water – moisture evaporates naturally from a wet filter, so there is no hot steam to get burned by. Still, place it steadily where children can't tip it over or pull the cord, and don't let children play with the appliance or the water.

How often do I change the filter?

Philips states about 6 months, depending on how much you use it and how hard your water is. The replacement filter is called FY5030. A filter that turns yellowish is normal – those are minerals from the water.

How do I clean it?

Empty the water and let the parts dry when you're not using it. Clean the tank and filter about once a week as the manual describes – with water and a soft brush, and descale when needed. Never leave old water standing for days.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

A quiet, smart humidifier for the bedroom, child's room or office. HU4210 humidifies rooms up to 44 m² at 300 ml/h according to Philips, and the 3.5-litre tank lasts up to 21 hours.

It uses Philips' evaporative NanoCloud technology: the water evaporates from a filter instead of being sprayed out, so no mist is visible and according to Philips there are no wet patches or white dust. Philips says it works with ordinary tap water. The water is not heated.

Choose a humidity between 30 and 70 % and the humidity sensor holds it. Sleep mode is very quiet, and in the Philips Air+ app you set the timer, schedules and level – also by voice. The tank is filled from the top. Three aroma pads are included if you want to use essential oils.

Available in charcoal grey and white. According to Philips it draws only 3 W on the highest setting.
