Food stays dry

Sandwiches, cheese and cold cuts sit in the Dry Zone drawer – cold, but away from meltwater. Drinks and ice go above, and you never need extra watertight boxes for the food.

Secure in the car

The moulded handles make it easy to lift the cooler in and strap it down in the car, motorhome or trailer.

Close it with one hand

The latch opens and closes with one hand and keeps the lid tight. If you want to lock it there's room for a padlock (sold separately).

Love this product – works very well as described. I put three standard bags of ice in and filled it with drinks cans and bottles. The bottom drawers had a few food items. The ice melted after a few days, but the water was ice cold and remained so. It kept the drawers cold.

What can I say other than "Brilliant". I used this for almost two weeks on a road trip wild camping around the Scottish Highlands in my tent box. It's a big bit of kit for sure, but it keeps all the food so chilled – in fact it works as well as or better than some domestic fridges. I followed the instructions, filled it with ice on leaving and topped up twice more with ice during the 12 days of travelling. We had all kinds of food in there and everything kept for days. Highly recommend.

I don't know how this works, but it does. We went for a week's holiday camping in sunny Cornwall and this amazing ice box kept our food fresh all week. We added 4 bags of ice in the afternoon of day 1, drained it on day 3 and topped up with 2 extra bags of ice on day 4. It kept my dog's raw food fresh all week, starting from frozen, and all our food ice cold all week. Dry food – packs of meat, cheese, butter and bacon – was kept in the drawer. It's a truly amazing piece of kit. Great for drinks and cans. It also allowed us to make iced coffees all week.

How does the Dry Zone drawer work?

The cold from the ice transfers to a separate drawer below the lid. Food there stays cold and dry, under 4.5 °C according to Ninja, and you can reach it without opening the lid or digging through the ice.

How long does the ice last?

Ice retention is based on Ninja's lab test (the cooler filled with ice and closed). How long the ice lasts for you depends on the heat, the sun, how often you open it and how much ice you put in. Pre-chilling the box before packing helps.

Can I lock it?

Yes. The lid and drawer have a latch, and the lid can be locked with a padlock (sold separately).

Can you sit on it?

Yes. The heavy-duty build means the cooler also works as an extra seat at the campsite or on the beach.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

Cold drinks and dry food in the same cooler. Ninja FrostVault 47 has a separate Dry Zone drawer where food stays cold and dry, out of the meltwater – and you can get to it without opening the lid.

The 47 litre capacity holds up to 80 cans without ice, 45 cans with ice or 50 bottles. According to Ninja's lab test it keeps ice for up to six days. Up to 7 cm of insulation and a tight-sealing lid keep the cold in, and the water drains out through a drain plug.

The heavy-duty build takes rough handling and also works as a seat. Moulded handles make it easy to lift in and strap down in the car, and the latch closes with one hand. The lid can be locked with a padlock (sold separately).
