From your hand to the air

Pick a mode with the button on Neo and release it from your palm. It flies its path, films you and comes back – handy on a mountain hike, on the ski slope or when the whole group wants to be in the shot.

Guarded propellers

The guards around all four propellers make Neo calm to fly near people and indoors. Infrared and visual positioning keep it steady in the air, and it returns to its starting point when the path is done.

Three ways to start

Drone only has one battery and is flown from your hand or phone. The Fly More Combo has RC-N3, three batteries and a charging hub. The Motion Fly More Combo has FPV goggles and a motion controller for flying in first-person view.

Product FAQ

Do I need to register or get a drone licence?

DJI Neo is class C0. Because it has a camera, you must register as a drone operator with the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen) and label the drone with your operator ID before you fly. No training is required for C0, but read the manual and follow the open-category rules: max 120 m altitude, visual line of sight and never over crowds. Always check where you may fly, for example near airports and in nature reserves, and respect other people's privacy when filming.

What is the difference between the kits?

Drone only contains Neo, one battery, spare propellers, a gimbal protector and a USB-C cable – you fly from your hand, with your phone or by voice. The Fly More Combo adds the RC-N3 controller, three batteries in total and a two-way charging hub. The Motion Fly More Combo instead has FPV goggles and a motion controller, extra batteries and a charging hub.

Do I need a memory card?

No. Neo has 22 GB of internal storage, which according to DJI holds about 40 minutes of 4K/30 fps or 55 minutes of 1080p/60 fps. You transfer the files to your phone over Wi-Fi.

Can I charge the battery in the drone?

Yes, you can charge Neo directly with a USB-C cable. With the two-way charging hub you charge three batteries.

Can I take the batteries on a plane?

The batteries are lithium batteries (DJI Neo Intelligent Flight Battery). Under 100 Wh they can normally travel in hand luggage, but not in checked baggage. Discharge them to about 30 %, protect the terminals and always check your airline's rules before you travel.

Description

DJI Neo weighs 135 g and is DJI's lightest drone so far. You press the mode button, pick a mode and let it take off from your palm – Neo films you and lands in your hand again, without any controller.

With AI subject tracking it follows you while you cycle, skateboard or hike, and six QuickShots – Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, Helix and Boomerang – give ready-made clips with one press. The propeller guards cover all rotors, so it works indoors too.

The camera has a 1/2-inch sensor, takes 12 MP stills and films in 4K/30 fps with a 1-axis mechanical gimbal and RockSteady stabilisation. 22 GB of internal storage holds about 40 minutes of 4K according to DJI, and flight time is up to 18 minutes per battery.

You can also control Neo with your phone (up to 50 m), with your voice, with the RC-N3 controller (up to 10 km) or with FPV goggles and a motion controller to fly in first-person view.
