Well, what can I say about this amazing device? I have been a chef for 25+ years and have dabbled with many a gadget over the years. I love my Ninja Woodfire, had it over a month now and with the weather being decent (UK) I have cooked on it pretty much every day. This machine is so versatile: cooked the normal burgers and sausages, chicken for a family BBQ, I have made smoked chicken tikka for my homemade curries, racks of ribs and slow-roasted joints of beef and pork for roasts and pulled pork. I have even baked cheese straws and cookies and even pizzas cooked from scratch. The machine can handle anything really. The only downside is the size of the cooking area could be double the size, but I am sure in time Ninja will produce a big brother to this amazing piece of kit. Don't get me wrong, it can still handle decent volume, but plan what you are cooking, and I easily produced enough food for a family BBQ for 10/12 people without breaking a sweat. The Ninja pellets aren't great in my opinion but there are plenty of options out there. Hopefully Ninja will look at these as well. Overall a cracking and quality device, and if you are thinking of getting one, just do it, you won't regret it. Newbies to this type of cooking will also find it easy to use, you don't have to be a trained chef to produce amazing results with it, so go and grab one.

Just smoked a brisket and short ribs. I can't believe how well it turned out. Buy a good meat thermometer and it's like hacking the matrix. The heat control and the efficiency and impact of the smoke make this a cheat code for home-made BBQ. The BBQ function with the smoke is also impressive. As a smoker though, this is a game changer.

Can I use it on my balcony?

The grill is electric with no open flame, which is often allowed where charcoal and gas grills are not. Always check the rules of your housing association or municipality. It's for outdoor use only.

Which pellets do I need?

Ninja Woodfire hardwood pellets. Two starter bags are included, and one scoop is enough per cook.

Can it stay outside in winter?

It's IPX4 rated and can be stored outdoors all year according to Ninja. A cover protects it even better.

How do I clean it?

The grill plate has a non-stick coating and the fat collects in a removable grease tray.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

Barbecue flavour without charcoal, gas or lighter fluid. Ninja Woodfire is an electric outdoor grill you simply plug in – and a built-in smoker box that burns wood pellets gives the food real smoky flavour.

Seven functions in one appliance: grill, smoke, air fry, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate. Grill burgers with the lid open, smoke ribs low and slow, or air fry potato wedges while the meat rests. You can add smoke flavour to every function.

The 28 × 37 cm grill plate takes 8 burgers, 16 sausages or 2 racks of ribs, and the basket holds up to 1 kg of chicken wings or potato wedges. The pellets are used for flavour only, not as fuel – one scoop is enough.

Being electric it heats up quickly and suits patios, balconies and campsites where open fire isn't allowed (always check the local rules). It's IPX4 rated and can stay outdoors all year. Outdoor use only.
