Fantastic ice cream maker that gets used all the time. I've tried protein ice cream, ice cream, slush and milkshake, and everything turns out great once you've learned how it works. It takes a bit of preparation, and it's good to have a few extra tubs ready in the freezer, but once you want ice cream it's ready in 5 minutes. The only negative is that it sounds like a jet engine, but we solved that by putting the machine in the laundry room and closing the door.

Bought this a few months ago and have been very happy with it. Yes, it's noisy, but no worse than my husband's coffee machine when it's grinding the beans. I find that a re-spin is almost always needed, but this only adds a couple of minutes to the process, so no big deal. Last time I used it the sound was different to normal; it sounded as if the RPM was varying during the programme, which is not how it's sounded in the past. Hopefully it was a one-off. Overall very happy with the product – can't wait for summer when it will really come into its own!

My first ice cream was vanilla. I spent at most 10 minutes on the included recipe. Then it sat in the freezer for 24 hours. The next day the Ninja CREAMi Deluxe took 3 minutes to make it. End result: like the expensive brands.

Does the base have to be frozen in advance?

Yes, for ice cream, sorbet and most programmes the base is frozen in the tub for about 24 hours. Milkshake is made from already frozen ice cream.

Do tubs from other CREAMi models fit?

No, according to Ninja you should only use NC500-series tubs with this machine.

Is it loud?

Yes, the motor is clearly audible while it works, but a programme only takes a few minutes.

How is it different from CREAMi NC302?

Deluxe has ten programmes instead of seven, including slush, frappé and frozen yoghurt, and larger 709 ml tubs.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

Ice cream, sorbet and gelato – but also slush, frappé, frozen yoghurt and milkshake. CREAMi Deluxe makes frozen desserts and drinks from your own ingredients, with ten programmes and one press of a button.

The tubs hold 709 ml, 50% more than the original model according to Ninja, and two tubs are included. You can even make two flavours in one tub: the machine processes the top or bottom half separately.

Freeze the base in the tub for a day, put it in and choose a programme. Use Re-spin to fine-tune the texture and Mix-in to stir in fruit, nuts or chocolate. All removable parts are dishwasher safe.
