Does it fit my PS5?
It fits PS5 Digital Edition in the Slim model group and PS5 Pro. It does not fit the first PS5 Digital Edition (the larger original model). Check the model number on the console.
Do I need internet?
Yes, once to pair the disc drive with the console after fitting.
Will it keep playing discs in the future?
Yes, the discs you already own keep working. According to Sony, new PlayStation games will only be sold digitally from January 2028, but disc games released before then can still be played.
Is it an original Sony product?
Yes, it is Sony’s own disc drive in its original packaging.

With Sony’s disc drive, PS5 Digital Edition (Slim) and PS5 Pro can play games and films on disc. You can use games you already own, buy physical editions and borrow games from friends – and watch films on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD.
The disc drive attaches to the side of the console in a few minutes. After fitting, it is paired with the console once via the internet.
