Even humidity throughout the room

A diffuser on top spreads the humidified air 360 degrees, so the moisture is distributed through the room instead of gathering around the unit. Philips states rooms up to 45 m² – a living room or a large bedroom.

Fill it under the tap

Lift off the top and fill the 3-litre container. With a full tank it runs up to 20 hours according to Philips. A warning shows when it's time to refill, and the unit switches off when the water is gone.

See the humidity in real time

The display shows the current humidity, water level, timer and mode. Set the level you want and it raises or lowers the speed itself, and night mode dims the sound and light.

Product FAQ

Does HU3918 have an app?

No, it's controlled on the panel on top. The humidity sensor and auto mode keep the level without an app. If you want to control it from your phone, look at the 4000 or 5000 Series.

What humidity should I aim for?

Indoors, 40–60 % relative humidity usually feels comfortable. With the radiators on in winter, indoor air can drop to 20–30 %. Set the level you want and let the humidity sensor do the work – above 60 % is rarely needed and can cause condensation on cold windows.

Does it get hot? Is it safe in a child's room?

No, it doesn't heat the water – moisture evaporates naturally from a wet filter, so there is no hot steam to get burned by. Still, place it steadily where children can't tip it over or pull the cord, and don't let children play with the appliance or the water.

How often do I change the filter?

Philips states up to 6 months, depending on how much you use it and how hard your water is. The replacement filter is called FY3446. A filter that turns yellowish is normal – those are minerals from the water.

How do I clean it?

Empty the water and let the parts dry when you're not using it. Clean the tank and filter about once a week as the manual describes – with water and a soft brush, and descale when needed. Never leave old water standing for days.

How fast will it arrive, and can I change my mind?

Description

A humidifier for the living room or a larger bedroom, in black with copper-coloured details. HU3918 humidifies rooms up to 45 m² at 300 ml/h according to Philips, and the 3-litre tank lasts up to 20 hours.

The evaporative NanoCloud technology lets the water evaporate from a filter. No mist is visible, and according to Philips' tests there's no white dust and no wet patches. A diffuser on top spreads the humidified air in all directions, and the water is never heated.

Choose 40, 50 or 60 % and the humidity sensor holds the level in auto mode. The display shows the humidity in real time, and there are three speeds, a night mode and a timer of up to 9 hours. When the tank is empty a warning lights up and the unit switches off.

For you who want automatic control without an app, in a colour that stands out a little more than white.
