No, the grip does not work with Nintendo Switch Joy-Con – only with Joy-Con 2.

How does it differ from the grip in the console box?
The grip that comes with Nintendo Switch 2 does not charge. The Charging Grip charges via USB-C and has GL/GR buttons.

Put Joy-Con 2 into the grip and you get a classic controller – connect the included USB cable and the controllers charge at the same time.
The grip has its own GL and GR buttons that you can map freely. Joy-Con 2 are not included, and the grip does not fit Joy-Con for the original Switch.
