Pads that reach the corners
A round mop leaves the corners untouched. The R2's pads are shaped like Reuleaux triangles and pushed out towards the wall, so the corners get wiped too.
Made for hair and paws
The brush bar picks up hair and pet hair without it wrapping around the brush, and the sensor boosts suction where needed.
The dock does the upkeep
After every run the robot is emptied and the mop pads are washed with hot water. According to Dyson the dock holds dirt for up to 90 days.

Will my rugs get wet?
An ultrasonic sensor detects whether the floor is carpeted. You can also set areas in the app where the robot shouldn't mop.
What does the dock do?
It empties the robot's bin, washes the mop pads with water heated to 75 °C and charges the robot. According to Dyson it holds dirt for up to 90 days.
Can it handle thresholds?
Yes, thresholds and edges of up to 40 mm.
What's the difference between the R2 and the R1 Nurovi Dry?
The R2 has mop pads and a dock that washes them. The R1 is the same robot for vacuuming only.

Description
A robot vacuum that vacuums and mops in the same run. The mop pads are shaped like a Reuleaux triangle – a triangle with curved sides – so they reach into corners where dust tends to collect, and the side brush extends 27 mm towards the edges.
Dyson's Twin-capture system combines a brush bar for larger debris with a motor of up to 21,000 Pa according to Dyson for the fine dust. The brush bar is made for homes with pets and resists hair tangling, and a sensor boosts suction where there's more dust. An ultrasonic sensor detects whether the floor is hard or carpeted.
In the dock the robot is emptied and the mop pads are washed with water heated to 75 °C after every clean. According to Dyson the dock holds dirt for up to 90 days. The robot is 96 mm tall, gets under low furniture and over thresholds of up to 40 mm, and maps your home with LiDAR. In the MyDyson app you edit the map and set no-go zones.
