Does it work with iPhone and Android?
Yes. The watch works with Android 7.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later. You pair it with Amazfit's Zepp app, where you see workouts, sleep and other data. Some features, such as quick replies to messages, only work with Android.
What is in the box, and how do I charge it?
According to Amazfit the box contains the watch with strap, a magnetic charger with a USB-C port and a user guide. A cable and a power adapter are not included: you plug a USB-C cable you already have into the charger, or pick our braided USB-C cable.
Can I pay with the watch?
The watch has NFC for Zepp Pay, Amazfit's contactless payment service. It only works with the banks and cards Zepp Pay supports – check your bank in the Zepp app before relying on the feature.
Can I swim with it?
Yes, the watch is water resistant to 5 ATM and has pool and open-water swimming modes. Avoid sauna and hot showers.
How big is it compared with Active 3 Premium?
Active Max is 48.5 mm with a 1.5" display and 22 mm strap; Active 3 Premium is 45 mm with a 1.32" display and 20 mm strap. Max has longer battery life (up to 25 vs 12 days according to Amazfit), Active 3 Premium has sapphire glass and a stainless steel frame.
Can the watch replace a doctor or detect illness?
No. The watch is not a medical device and does not replace medical advice. Heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep, stress and other readings are estimates for following your own training and everyday life. Contact a healthcare provider if you have symptoms or questions about your health.

Amazfit Active Max is the Active series in a larger format: a big, bright display, longer battery life and still a light watch. The 1.5-inch AMOLED display reaches up to 3,000 nits, so you see your steps and heart rate even in direct sunlight. The frame is aluminium alloy and the watch weighs 39.5 g without strap.
According to Amazfit the 658 mAh battery lasts up to 25 days of typical use, 13 days of heavy use and up to 64 hours of continuous GPS. GPS with five satellite systems and downloadable maps make it a good companion on walks, bike rides and runs.
With a microphone and speaker you take calls from your phone, and NFC lets you pay with Zepp Pay. The watch is water resistant to 5 ATM and has 170+ sports modes.
Active Max works with Android and iPhone through the Zepp app. The strap is 22 mm with quick release.
